Current Saleroom Information

Our recent January sale was one of our most successful antiques auctions ever, with exceptional prices across all sections of the sale. This illustrates that despite the pandemic this is an excellent time to sell good quality antiques and collectables. 

Our next sale is on the 17th & 18th of February and includes a broad selection of antiques including Silver, Gold, Jewellery, Furniture, Pictures, Ceramics, Glass and Collectables. The sale also includes a specialist section for Militaria and Medals.

We will be accepting entries by appointment from the 12th of January. If you are unable to attend the saleroom in person we can provide a free valuations remotely from photographs sent by email or a home visit can be arranged for larger consignments. Please do ensure you are observing all Covid-19 government safety guidelines including wearing a mask and by ensuring you are not suffering from any Covid symptons or have had any potential Covid contacts within the last two weeks. 

 


 Bidding at our Auctions

At present our salerooms are open for viewing and  bidding by appointment. Please telephone 01531 821776 to book your place

Please do ensure you are observing all Covid-19 government safety guidelines including wearing a mask and by ensuring you are not suffering from any Covid symptons or have had any potential Covid contacts within the last two weeks. 

Alternatively you can bid live online through our website or by using the bidding platforms Easylive Auctions or The-Saleroom.com. An additional fee for bidding live online is charged by these providers. 

Commission bids or Absentee bids can be booked directly with Smiths Auctions by email, telephone or through our website. These are free of charge and mean that the auctioneer will bid on your behalf during the auction. Telephone bids can also be arranged directly with Smiths Auctions for higher value items - these are also free of charge.

If you are confused by all the potential bidding options please telephone us and we will be happy to discuss the most suitable option for you.

Smiths provide an excellent in-house postage service for most small to medium sized items in the sale. Please see our postage page for further information or telephone us to check your item or items can be posted.

 


 Viewing

 Collections

Purchases can be collected from the saleroom by appointment. Items can be paid for in advance via our online secure payment system, by bank transfer or by card or cash at the saleroom. We will be open on the Saturday morning after the sale 10am-12noon and then Monday to Thursday 10am-5pm.  All items must be collected by the Thursday following the sale. 

We offer an excellent in house reasonably priced postage service for most small to medium items. Please ask for details if you are unsure about which items might be suitable for posting.

 


 Entering Items for Auction
